Step One
Add the individual to the individuals area. The individual MUST be added to the individuals area for the system to assign them to the careers target.
The Individuals area has been updated to include “employment opportunities” as well as work experience and apprentices. If they are not an apprentice, this information does not currently pull from Pre-enrolment.
The individual can be added as an apprentice or employment opportunities, whichever is accurate, to count towards enabled or WD careers.
NOTE: Only the * fields are mandatory to complete as these are needed for the careers target verification. You can use a reference or code instead of the individuals name for GDPR purposes if requested, as long as the ref or code is unique.
Step Two: Logging the Entry
'What is the investment?' must be:
-
Employment Opportunities
-
Employment Opportunities - Supply Chain
-
Employment Opportunities - Client
NOTE: For enabled careers: employment opportunities for WD, S/C or client count. For WD careers: only WD employment opportunities count to target.
Step Three:
To count towards enabled or WD careers the individual needs to be in sustainable employment, which is defined as over three months.
This information is taken from “Start and end date from this entry” section in the entry and will be logged cumulatively in the Individuals area.
NB: If you log data monthly the individual won’t count towards the Careers target until three months employment has been logged in MiSocial.
Step Four:
Select the correct output. To calculate towards enabled careers or WD careers you must select either:
-
Sustainable employment
-
Education progression
Step Five:
Complete detail about the activity/ event section:
|
Detail About The Activity / Event Questions |
|
| 1. If part of a programme, please select | For enabled and WD careers the entry does not need to be part of a programme but can be. |
| 2. What was the primary focus of the activity / event? | Barriers to employment are a requirement for enabled and WD careers. These are listed in appendix 2 |
| 3. What was the secondary focus of the activity / event? | This is not mandatory but available to record more than one focus area if needed. |
| 4. Select Careers Target category | Select either enabled careers or WD careers. |
NB: even if you select Enabled careers or WD careers, if the required criteria for this category isn’t met, the entry will count towards a different category of the Careers target where the criteria has been met.
Additional Requirement for WD Careers
To count towards Willmott Dixon careers for disadvantaged young people we also need to identify the individual logged is “young”. The definition of “young” used in Mi Social is anyone 30 years old and under. This data will pull from the individuals profile in the individuals area. NB: This data will be included in the audit process.
If the individual is over 30, and meet the other criteria, they will automatically be assigned to Enabled careers. Please speak to the Foundation team to discuss individual cases.
