What is Mi Social?
Mi Social is a management tool that enables our people to plan, manage and report our social value and community activities. This can include anything from delivering workshops in schools to inspire young people to develop their maths, science, technology and engineering skills and offering work experience to helping ex-offenders into employment and renovating safe houses for young mums.
Mi Social enables our people to:
Plan - Create bespoke social value plans with our customers, to take into account the needs of the local communities that we work in.
Manage - Enable our teams to manage community and social value activities more easily.
Report - Produce internal and external customer reports quickly and simply.

Why We Did It
Willmott Dixon has a purpose beyond profit, but before Mi Social was created we weren’t able to capture, showcase and report on all the amazing work that our people have been doing in the communities that we live and work in.
Our customers are also putting more emphasis on social value in bids and tenders, so aside from the good work we do, being able to better report on our social and community work also makes good business sense.
Mi Social saves our people time by:
-
Avoiding duplication of data entry
-
Reducing the need for paper forms
-
Simplifying data entry
- Reporting our social value at the click of a button

How it Works
Mi Social allows our people access to a Social Value Account (SVA) plan builder tool to produce bespoke social value plans for our customers and the local communities that we work in.
Social value activities are logged and audited on a monthly basis, which is shown as progress against the social value plan.
